Zhuke Rock Tea — Rougui (Core Production Area)

Experience the pinnacle of Wuyi Rock Tea—a rare, commanding rock tea from the legendary Zhuke core production area, famous for its fierce cinnamon spice and profound mineral depth.

Overview

Our Rougui hails exclusively from Zhuke, a legendary valley located within the absolute core production area (Zhengyan) of the Wuyi Mountains. "Zhuke" (Bamboo Nest) is a highly coveted micro-terroir surrounded by towering cliffs and lush bamboo groves. This unique environment provides ideal shade, high humidity, and mineral-rich volcanic soil. Crafted from the aromatic Rougui cultivar and masterfully charcoal-roasted, this authentic Zhuke rock tea delivers the ultimate expression of Yan Yun (Rock Rhyme)—a deep, soul-stirring minerality that tea connoisseurs worldwide chase.

Flavor Profile & Tasting Notes

  • Primary Flavors: Bold cinnamon spice, roasted cocoa, and underlying notes of stewed stone fruits.

  • Aroma: An intense, captivating bouquet of sharp spice, warm sandalwood, and sweet floral undertones.

  • Body: Exceptionally full-bodied, heavy, and velvety. It grips the palate with a powerful yet smooth texture.

  • Finish: A dramatic, explosive sweetness (Hui Gan) that echoes in the throat, accompanied by a long-lasting, cooling mineral aftertaste.

Why You Will Love It

  • Authentic Core Production Area: Sourced 100% from Zhuke, one of the most revered, restricted, and high-value terroirs within the Wuyi National Park.

  • Traditional Charcoal Roasting: Masterfully roasted over long hours using premium fruitwood charcoal to seal in the complex, smoky-sweet layers.

  • Incredible Longevity: An exceptionally robust rock tea that evolves beautifully with every steep, easily lasting for over 8–10 rich infusions.

Brewing Guide (Gongfu Style)

  • Tea-to-Water Ratio: 8.5g of tea leaves per 130 ml–150ml Gaiwan (Standard Wuyi rock tea presentation).

  • Water Temperature: 95°C – 100°C (203°F – 212°F). Boiling water is essential to unlock the heavy minerals and deep aromas.

  • Steeping Time: Flash steep (1–5 seconds) for the first 3 infusions. Gradually add 5–10 seconds for subsequent brews. Do not over-steep.
