Lishan High-Mountain Oolong Tea (Taiwan)

Taste the crisp, misty essence of Taiwan’s highest peaks with this extraordinarily sweet and buttery artisan oolong.

Overview

Our Lishan (Pear Mountain) Oolong is an ultra-premium high-mountain tea (Gao Shan Cha) harvested from the pristine, cloud-shrouded peaks of Taiwan at altitudes above 2,000 meters.

Due to freezing night temperatures and abundant morning mist, the tea leaves grow slowly, locking in high concentrations of amino acids. This unique terroir creates an exceptionally smooth, sweet, and low-bitterness tea that represents the pinnacle of Taiwanese oolong craftsmanship.

Flavor Profile & Tasting Notes

  • Aroma: Fresh orchids, cold mountain air, and a subtle hint of sweet wild pear.

  • Body: Silky, thick, and deeply lubricating to the throat.

  • Finish: A clean, crisp, and intensely sweet aftertaste (Hui Gan) that lingers for hours.

Why You Will Love It

  • True High-Altitude Terroir: Displays the coveted "Mountain Rhyme" (Lishan Yun) unique to this freezing microclimate.

  • Naturally Sweet: Very low in catechins and bitterness, making it incredibly smooth and easy to drink.

  • Incredible Endurance: The tightly rolled leaves slowly unfurl, yielding over 7-9 rich infusions.

Brewing Guide (Gongfu Style)

  • Tea-to-Water Ratio: 5g of tea leaves per 100ml of water.

  • Water Temperature: 90°C – 95°C (194°F – 203°F).

  • Steeping Time: 30~50 seconds for the first steep, 10 seconds for the second, then increase by 10-15 seconds for later infusions.
